Our Philosophy: A Unique Medical Paradigm
At McGaughey Health Group, we believe that our bodies are created to be self-healing and self-regulating. In other words, reaching and maintaining optimal, whole-person health comes through your own body doing what it naturally does—and all it takes is the proper guidance. Hence, our motto: We guide, you heal, naturally.
Symptoms are Just That: Symptoms
No person is merely the sum of their symptoms. Symptoms merely signal to the doctor and the patient that there is dysfunction at various levels in the body. Dysfunction may occur due to a variety of stressors, including chemical, electrical, physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual stressors. In the short-term, these stressors lead to adaptation mechanisms in the body and the brain that serve to preserve, heal, and re-establish homeostasis—which simply refers to a stable balance among the various systems of the body.
In the face of long-term chronic stressors, however, these adaptations may begin to impede the normal function of many systems in the body (including the immune, glandular/hormonal, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, and other systems). Our goal in treatment is to address the root cause of these dysfunctions and to support the body’s ability to self-heal and self-regulate.
“Reaching and maintaining optimal health comes through your own body doing what it naturally does—and all it takes is the proper guidance. Hence, our motto: We guide, you heal, naturally.”
The Solution: Proper Balance Among the Body’s Systems
We work alongside our patients to achieve this goal by: helping our patients to identify the individual stressors affecting their health; educating them in ways to reduce the level of these stressors; and by providing intentional and precise therapeutic measures designed to both heal, restore, and balance the function of each system in the body.
At McGaughey Health Group, we believe strongly that healing begins with Trust: Trust in the doctor-patient relationship; Trust in the body’s miraculous healing ability; and Trust that you are taking the first steps toward regaining your health and living the life you want to live.
